I love designing and making wedding cakes and relish the chance to create a spectacular and unique cake that will be a focal point of the brides dream day.
20 years ago I made my own wedding cakes, my own wedding dress, veil, bag, bridesmaids dresses, men's waistcoats & cravats. I am told I am a perfectionist and believe in paying every attention to detail to achieve the best possible outcome.
I only bake with top quality ingredients, such as free range eggs, butter and natural flavourings.
I am based in Mickleton (only a few steps away from the famous Pudding Club) situated in the beautiful North Cotswolds area between Stratford upon Avon and Chipping Campden. You are invited to visit my lovely old dining room for a nice cuppa in my vintage china. Questions are likely to be:
-do you have a specific budget?
-what date is it?
-where is it if you want I'd delivered & set up?
-what time will you require it if collecting?
-how many will it need to feed?
-will it be instead of a dessert?
-do you need take home or send off boxes for guests?
-do you prefer large cakes or cupcakes? Or both?
-have you considered a large top cake (to keep maybe?) with cupcakes on a stand below?
-shape of cake(s)?
-when will you serve it? Wedding breakfast or evening do or both?
-do you have a wedding theme? Colours? Vintage?Traditional? Flowers?
-do you need to cater for coeliacs?
-what flavours do you like if it's madeira sponge (samples to taste) current 3 favourites are:
~Vanilla & passion fruit
~St. Clements (Orange cake with lemon curd/buttercream)
~Chocotella = chocolate & Nutella
-if it's fruit cake - with or without alcohol?
-do you have any photos of cakes you like? if not:
-do a Google Images search using key words (eg:'red roses 3 tier wedding cake' or 'spring flower cupcakes')
-is there any thing you really don't like or don't want?
-do you want a cake topper?
-does your venue have a suitable place/table?
-what do you want on the table under or around the cake(s) (eg: stand, a mirror, flowers, petals, vintage cloth, lace, swags, bows, crockery, gems etc)
At the end of a consultations we should all have have a clear idea of what is required. I will then work out costings in the next few days to pass on to who ever is paying for the cake to consider.
The date will become fully diarised when everyone is happy with whats being made and supplied and a 50% non-refundable deposit is received.
Note: If your wedding is during the peak season or on a Saturday the sooner it is booked in the better as some dates are already taken.
